  My family and I have a holiday place in Tasmania and travel to and from Melbourne several times a year on the Spirit of Tasmania. We have eaten at Valentino's and in the past we liked it. The pizzas were tasty, they had a good selection of drinks, and the service was prompt and friendly. We probably ate five times at the outside tables and had our well-behaved Golden Retriever with us. The waiting staff liked him and brought him water to drink. We returned last night before boarding the boat and as it was chilly we ate inside and left our dog in the car. I finished before the others and brought the dog to wait outside for them. I was told that I could not have him there with me. When I asked the reason, the waitress told me that it was for health and safety reasons. Was this a new Council regulation? I asked, but she didn't know. I have checked and there is no such regulation. Sorry Valentino's but we won't be coming back.
